Andy studied Sound Engineering in The Sound Training Center under the guidance of Dave "Skippy"  Christophers, widely regarded as the best in his field. After finishing top of his year he was accepted in to the inaugural 2nd year programme.

In this year Andy saw very little daylight as he used the near unlimited access to

Andy Knightley

Sun and Apollo recording studios to the full, assisting to engineers such as Phil Hayes (Bell X1, JJ72), Pat Dunne (Paddy Casey, Relish) and Karl Odlum (The Frames, David Kitt) and recording artists such as Tim Wheeler (Ash), Shane McGowan, The Divine Comedy, Mundy, Nina Hynes, Aslan, Kila and many more...

Following his graduation in 2001 Andy was asked to become a full time lecturer in The Sound Training Center. Over the following 4 years Andy became Head Sound Engineering Lecturer and also the main Pro Tools lecturer teaching over 500 students.

While teaching Andy had the enviable chance to build up his experience in Sound Engineering whilst also developing an idea for a studio that was fully mobile.

In 2005 Andy decided to leave teaching to concentrate on this mobile studio and Krecording was officially born.

Whilst working with Krecording Andy has worked in all the corners of Ireland and everywhere in between and even as far as the UK, France and Switzerland.

Studios incorporated in to working with the mobile studio include Sun and Apollo studios in Temple Bar, Salt Studios in Sutton, Westland Studios in Dublin and Black Box Studios in France.

Andy has extensive experience in using Neve and SSL mixing consoles along with an intimate knowledge of all things Pro Tools including HD and LE systems.

Krecording has gone from a small PC in a bedroom recording friends in early 2002 to a brand new dedicated recording studio incorporating Pro Tools HD and high quality analogue equipment recording Sinead O'Connor, Bell X1, The Rags, Damien Dempsey, Wayne P Sheehy (Ronnie Wood) and many more in 2007.

Thus far Andy has had 1 Number 1 album (Shots - Damien Dempsey), numerous top 40 hit singles (The Rags, Pilotlight, Unite Tribe, etc) and has even had one of his recordings, Monsters and i - The Rags, voted the best ad music of the century by Today FM listeners!
